Eight courses designed specifically for over-50s — modern CVs, digital interviews, LinkedIn, online job searching, and returning to work with your experience working for you, not against you.

Over-50s Programme.

The job market has changed. Online applications, video interviews, LinkedIn profiles, digital portfolios — tools that did not exist when many people last looked for work. That is not a reflection of your ability. It is a gap in what you’ve been given access to.

WO Consultancy’s Over-50s Programme is built around the specific realities of job searching after 50: navigating age bias, presenting decades of experience in a format modern employers respond to, and building confidence with the digital tools that now sit between you and most opportunities.

These courses are free. They are practical. And they are built for people who have a lot to offer — and deserve a job market that recognises it.

COURSE DESCRIPTIONS

Reboot Your Career After 50

A starting point for anyone over 50 who is re-entering the job market, changing direction, or feeling stuck. This session covers how hiring has changed, what employers are actually looking for, how to approach a job search strategically, and how to reframe your experience in a way that works in the current market. Honest, practical, and designed for where you actually are.

Modern CV & Applications for Over-50s

CV conventions have changed — length, format, the role of a profile summary, how to handle a long career history, what to include and what to leave out. This course covers all of it: how to create a modern CV that presents decades of experience clearly, without looking dated or giving away your age before you’ve had a chance to make an impression.

Confidence with Digital Interviews

Video interviews are now standard. Many people over 50 have never done one and find the format uncomfortable or unfamiliar. This course covers the technology (Zoom, Teams, Google Meet), how to set up your space and lighting, how to present yourself on screen, and how to perform as well in a video interview as you would in person.

Intro to LinkedIn for Over-50s

LinkedIn is where recruiters look first. This course walks through creating or improving a LinkedIn profile that presents you well: what to write in each section, how to talk about your experience, how to use LinkedIn to research employers and connect with people in your field, and how to make the platform work for you rather than feeling like another digital chore.

Digital Skills for Today’s Workplace

Employers expect digital confidence as a baseline. This course covers the tools most workplaces now use — cloud storage, email, shared documents, video calls, and communication platforms — so you can walk into a new role ready to work, without the anxiety of learning everything from scratch on day one.

Age & Advantage: Turning Experience Into Employability

Experience is an asset — but only if you can articulate it in a way that resonates with employers who may be younger than you and using different language. This course focuses on translating what you’ve done into what employers need: identifying transferable skills, handling age-related questions in interviews, and positioning yourself as someone who brings something genuinely valuable to a team.

Tech for Everyday Life

Smartphones, apps, online banking, video calls with family, streaming, NHS services online — technology is now part of everyday life. This course is for over-50s who want to feel more confident and comfortable with the technology they use day to day, without jargon and without judgement.

Job Searching Online for Over-50s

Job boards, employer websites, application portals, creating accounts, uploading documents, filling in online forms — the mechanics of modern job searching are almost entirely digital. This course walks through all of it, step by step, so the process feels manageable rather than overwhelming.
